Kilkenny Mart – Sheep Prices – 05-04-2022
According to George Candler, cull ewe prices reached new heights at Kilkenny Mart’s sheep sale on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, with returns for this category peaking at €278/head.
The mart’s auctioneer reported that hoggets fetched up to €176/head, while spring lambs topped out at €184/head.

According to George Candler, some 450 lots went under the hammer at Kilkenny Mart’s sheep sale on Tuesday, March 28th, 2022.
The mart’s auctioneer reported that hoggets/lambs sold to a top call of €172/head, while cull ewes peaked at €230/head.
- Butcher lambs – €2.90-€3.30/kg or €156-€172/head;
- Factory lambs – €3.15-€3.68/kg or €128-€163/head;
- Cast ewes – €117-€230/head.
