Prices to €3,000 as turnover reaches €1.1m at Kilkenny

Kilkenny Mart – Cattle Prices – 16-06-2022

According to George Candler, over 900 lots passed through the ring at Kilkenny Mart on Thursday, June 16^th, 2022.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that a “somewhat smaller sale of cattle met with a slight reduction in price, with some plainer lots more difficult to sell”.

He noted that “top quality lots, both beef and stores, are still selling well”.

“Moreover, turnover, once again, exceeded €1.1 million. The top call at yesterday’s sale was €3,000 for a Limousin bull, weighing 1135kgs.”

“A small suckler clearance sale saw cows with calves at foot range from €1700 to €2220 per unit,” Candler noted.
