Castlerea Mart report – cattle prices – 14-10-2021
According to Brendan Egan, “large” numbers of stock were on offer at Castlerea Mart on Monday, Thursday, and last Saturday.
The mart manager reported that “trade remained strong for all quality lots, while plainer-type stock tended to be a little harder sold.”
“However, in some cases, like the heifer weanlings, both prices and trade improved especially for quality lots.”

Egan reported that over 330 bullocks were on offer last Monday (October 11th, 2021). He told That’s Farming stores climbed to €1,195 over the kg, while heavier types topped out at €1,730.
