Quality lots remain with increased farmer activity at Castlerea

Castlerea Mart – cattle prices – 07-10-2021

According to Brendan Egan, a large entry went under the hammer at Castlerea Mart’s general cattle sale on Thursday, October 7th.

The mart manager reported that deteriorating weather conditions brought larger numbers to its weekly sale.

“Trade for quality lots remained firm with a good attendance of buyers present for all categories of stock.”

“The heifer ring reported a good clearance with increased farmer activity. Meanwhile, the weanling rings saw some very fancy prices paid for quality lots.”

“Breeding stock and dry cows remain unchanged, while runners were an improved trade,” Egan concluded.
