Castlerea Mart – Cattle Prices – 09-06-2022
According to Brendan Egan, almost 500 lots came under the hammer at Castlerea Mart on Thursday, June 9th, 2022.
The mart manager reported that trade “held”, especially for forward lots. The heifer ring noticed “strong” demand for the forward lots with up to €2,080, while bullocks topped out at €2,090.
The weanling rings, with fewer numbers on offer, saw bulls peak at €1,150 while heifers in this category soared to €1,340 Meanwhile, Egan reported that the calf and runner rings witnessed a “good” clearance.
Meanwhile, cows with calves at foot changed hands for up to €2,420, while springers sold to €2,100, and dry cows topped out at €2,540.
