Castlerea Mart – Cattle Prices – 01-12-2022
According to Brendan Egan, over 600 animals crossed the scales at Castlerea Mart on Thursday, December 1st, 2022.
The mart manager reported that trade “held very well as we approach the final month of trading for 2022”.
He noted that the dry cow trade “held up well” with “good” demand for both stores and heavier lots.
The weanling rings witnessed bulls make up to €4.07/kg, while weanling heifers peaked at €4.00/kg.
The heifer rings witnessed “strong” demand for stores, while heavier lots soared to €2160.
