Just over 800 cattle and 250 sheep were offered for sale at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, February 18th.
A mart spokesperson reported that trade was strong all-round, with bulls and heifers similar to last week.
Trade was strong for suckler pairings – they mainly made from €1,700 to €2,400 but a top call of €3,050 was achieved for a second-calved Limousin-cross with a one-month-old Limousin heifer calf.
“A handful of dairy stock appeared today making €950 to €1,220.”
Light Friesian bull calves made from €30 to €60, while stronger-types pushed from €70 to €140. Continentals hit €445 and Herefords and Aberdeen-Angus entries peaked at €280.

The spokesperson reported that trade for sheep was “very strong” which led to a full clearance.
Lambs clicked from €141, while cull ewes fetched from €86 to €130.
