Up to 50mm of rain and gusts of up to 110km/h

Met Éireann has issued two separate status yellow warnings.

Wind warning 

A status yellow wind warning will come into effect in Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry at 3pm today (Friday, January 10th) and will remain in place until 11am tomorrow (Saturday, January 11th).

“South to south-west winds, 50 to 65 km/hr, gusts 90 to 110 km/hr, strongest on exposed coasts and hills.”

“At the coast, high seas and gales will combine to give a risk of coastal flooding.” the national forecaster warned.

Rainfall warning

Meanwhile, Mayo, Galway, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon and Donegal are being placed under a status yellow rainfall warning from 3pm this afternoon until 3pm tomorrow (Saturday, January 11th).

“Heavy rain with accumulations of 40-50mm over the period with localised flooding.”
