Shippers, bull beef customers and farmers active in Ennis

Farming News/Mart Reports on That’s Farming – Ennis Mart – 29-08-2023

According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, almost 400 lots crossed the scales at Tuesday’s (August 29^th, 2023), sale, with calves making up 40 lots.

These topped at €660 for a 6-week-old Limousin bull calf.

Also, runner numbers increased with almost 100 on offer, with heifers in this category to €880 and runner bulls to €1,050 for a Charolais bull at 280kgs.

The spokesperson noted that “again, in the bull weanling ring, shippers, bull beef customers and farmers were very active”.

“There was some shipping activity in the heifer ring on Tuesday, together with farmer customers.”

Limited numbers of suckling stock came under the hammer and with pairs making up the majority, these peaked at €2,090 and in-calf lots sold to €1,720.
