Cow gives birth to 104kg calf

A dairy cow has given birth to a 104kg Belgian Blue-cross calf, writes Catherina Cunnane.

The super-sized bull calf was delivered via C-section by Piers of Mount Vets, which is based in the UK, on Friday, February 7th.

In a post on social media, the veterinary practice, said: Piers did a caesarean on a dairy cow and pulled out what might be a world record-breakingly heavy calf!”

“The Belgian blue-cross bull calf hadn’t quite stood by the time he left but the weight band measured at a conservative 104 kgs, which is 2kgs over the world record.”

“Guinness currently being contacted to see if we might be able to enter this big boy (not Piers) into the record books!”

“Mum stood happily throughout the operation, though we are sure she was more than a little relieved we didn’t pull it out the normal way!” the social media post added.
