Eilish Gill, careers committee chairperson of UCD Agricultural Society, tells That’s Farming’s readers about UCD Agriculture, Food Science & Human Nutrition Careers Day.
UCD Agricultural Society is delighted to announce this year’s UCD Agriculture, Food Science & Human Nutrition Careers Day will be held on February 22nd, 2023.
The event has been a staple of the final year student’s calendar for years, and it is a fantastic opportunity for companies to meet the upcoming talented graduates; in recent years, up to fifty companies have attended.
The School of Agriculture, Food Science and Human Nutrition is home to numerous programmes, with 400 students to graduate this year. In the past, up to 50 companies have attended on the day.
On the day, the annual graduate handbook, generously sponsored by FRS Recruitment, will be launched and available to any prospective employers.
Also, on the day, winners of the 2023 ASA Mock Interviews will be announced. It is set to be a brilliant day, with many Alumni returning to their old stomping ground to meet the new prospects.
This year marks 100 years of UCD’s Agricultural Society, and in recognition of this, our aim is to make this careers day one of the biggest and best yet!”

UCD AgSoc elects new committee
UCD AgSoc has elected its 2022/2023 committee, which Ciara Byers – who previously featured on That’s Farming – will lead as its auditor.
The committee comprises students from all years and agricultural degree programmes within UCD’s School of Agriculture and Food Science, who liaise with classmates about upcoming events.
The committee is formed at the start of each school year via an in-person voting process.
The auditor, treasurer and careers officer are voted in the previous year for them to shadow and see what will be expected of their role when they take the reins in final year.
Their first call of duty is to organise the vote of the rest of their committee, the result of which you can view via this link.
