Videos: Donegal family’s Golden Maverick is overall champion of Claremorris Show

Cattle exhibitors gathered from within the county, Galway, Roscommon, Limerick, Donegal, and Meath with their entries to compete for hotly contested titles and prize money at the 103^rd Claremorris Agricultural Show in Mayo on Sunday, August 6^th, 2023.

Manager of Aurivo Ballymote Mart, David Faughnan and Simmental breeder, Manus Connolly, jointly judged all cattle classes on the day and wrapped up proceedings at circa 2:30 pm.

Clinching the Western Farmers’ Cup, sponsored by Western Farming Co-op, for Champion of Commercial Classes, was the Barnett family, from Raphoe in Co Donegal with their sole entry, Golden Maverick, followed by Linda Flanagan’s heifer (Co Roscommon) in reserve.
