Cattle trade ‘holds steady all around’ in Ennis

Numbers were “up slightly” on the previous week at Ennis Mart, Co Clare on Tuesday, August 8^th,2 2023, with almost 300 on offer.

That is according to a spokesperson who reported that “trade held steady all around again, with shippers very active in the bull ring and underpinning the trade”.

“Heifer weanlings are just holding the trade. Meanwhile, there was a larger than expected entry of calves with 50 on offer and a number of these 3 to 4-months-old.”

“The tops of these made to €595, while only a handful of suckler stock available and topped at €1,660 for a pair,” the spokesperson added.
