Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 12-10-2021

According to a spokesperson, over 1,100 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, October 12^th, 2021.

They reported that trade for “quality lots, in the bull ring, held exceptionally well, but the second-grade entries were a shade easier”.

“Heifers were a shade easier also, especially the lesser lots. Again, in the runner ring, quality is very sought after and heifers in this ring topped out at €940 and bulls at €1,090.”

“A mixed run of suckler stock were on offer and made to €1,770 for a pair. Only a few calves were available and a Charolais bull calf made to €500,” he added.

Ennis Mart 05-10-2021

According to a spokesperson, just under 1,200 cattle were on offer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, October 5^th, 2021.

They reported that the sale attracted a “large” entry of weanlings, with 95% of all lots finding new homes.

“Trade held very strong for quality lots, but lesser-quality lots were a little bit easier.”
“More calves were on offer, and 15 of these were available with a 5-week-old Charolais heifer calf making €320.”

Meanwhile, pairs in the suckler ring hit €2,390, and in-calf lots followed at €1,600. On the other hand, runner heifers fetched up to €900, and bulls rose to €1,120.

“Again, a few roan-coloured top-quality heifers made serious money and hit €7.50/kg,” the spokesperson commented.
