Kilkenny Mart – 24-03-2022 – Cattle Prices

According to George Candler, some 1,500 cattle crossed the sales at Kilkenny Mart on Thursday, March 24^th, 2022.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that this was “one of the biggest sales in the last few years” at the mart.

He noted that the turnover was “marginally short” of €1.5 million. Candler explained that forward and beef-type heifers and bullocks met with an “excellent” trade, while plain, light cattle were “a bit more difficult to sell”.
