Weather: Rain with some dry and sunny spells

It will be mostly dry with some sunny spells today, although isolated showers are expected in Ulster and along western coastal counties, according to Met Éireann.

An occasional shower may occur in the midlands with highs of 14 to 17 degrees nationwide.

Similar conditions tonight with isolated showers in the north-west at first.

It will be what the national forecaster has described as a “cold night for early July” with lows of 5 to 9 degrees.

Saturday – It will be mainly dry tomorrow with sunny spells and isolated showers along the north coast.

Temperatures will range from 15 to 20 degrees, before dropping between 7 to 9 degrees tomorrow night.

It will be dry with clear spells on Saturday night, with cloud set to increase from the west later.

Sunday – While there will be a dry, bright start to the day, patchy rain and drizzle will fall in Atlantic coastal counties during the morning.

Met Éireann has said that light rain will slowly edge eastwards throughout the day, but it likely to hold dry in the south-east until dark.

Temperatures are expected to be in the region of 16 to 19 degrees with slightly lower values of 12 to 14 degrees on Sunday night.

Rain will extend eastwards to all areas on Sunday night.
