Tractor and feed lorry collide

A tractor and lorry collided on a rural road in Herefordshire over the course of the weekend.

The incident occurred on the A449 at Gatsford, Ross-on-Wye on Saturday (August 1st) afternoon.

A lorry carrying farm feed and a Fendt tractor with a trailer of potatoes were involved in the crash.

The tractor had been pulling a trailer of potatoes and had overturned and the tanker was leaking fuel, according a spokesperson for West Mercia Police.

Fire crews used environmental grab packs and soil to assist with what have been described as “significant” fuel leaks.

The road was closed for a period and vehicles were recovered, the police spokesperson added.

“Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the collision. Anyone who witnessed the collision but hasn’t yet spoken to officers can provide information via our website or by calling 101.” the spokesperson concluded.
