You could be in with the chance of winning a 13-month-old Parthenaise-cross-Belgian Blue heifer for €26.
The heifer, which is out of a Parthenaise-cross-Limousin dam and a Belgian-Blue bull, is owned and bred by Norman Connolly.
Speaking to Catherina Cunnane, editor of That’s Farming, Connolly, who runs a 90-cow suckler herd in Tuam, Co. Galway, said: “The heifer is 430kgs and has a replacement index of €102 and a terminal index of €134, as seen in her €uro-star report.”
“We just decided to hold a raffle to see how it goes – if this goes well, we might raffle off more cattle.”
A €200 donation will be Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation from the raffle. The draw will be held in the coming days when all tickets (100 were available at the beginning of the raffle) are sold.

The winner must collect the heifer and all relevant documentation will be arranged, according to the suckler farmer; the heifer can be export-tested if required.
