Duo invent ‘world’s first’ plant-based water bottle

Amee Ritchie and Jake Elliott-Hook have created S’wheat, the “world’s first reusable bottle made from plant-based materials using naturally grown wheat straw”.

S’wheat is the result of two years of “intense” research by the university graduates, who aim to “protect the planet from plastic pollution”.

They longed for a sustainable and practical solution to plastic and steel bottle waste. According to the founders, S’wheat’s one of a kind reusable plant-based bottles removes 360 single-use bottles with each sale while also planting your very own trackable and traceable tree.

Jake said, “We wanted to create a new material that would be as durable as plastic, but without the negative consequences, we found everything we needed to do so in nature.”

‘The world’s most eco-friendly bottle’

Using natural and sustainable materials such as wheat straw, they crafted an entirely new eco-friendly material, “changing the reusable product industry forever”.

“It’s just the world’s most eco-friendly bottle. No nonsense, just natural, practical, and great for the planet. It’s that simple.”

S’wheat’s new reusable bottle comes equipped with their natural ‘eco-insulated’ thermal wall technology allowing their bottle to take both hot and cold liquids, and has a reinforced clip carry handle.

According to the company, every S’wheat product sold takes the equivalent of 20 lbs of plastic out of the ocean. Their products are “ethically produced, made from sustainably sourced materials, carbon-neutral, and give back to the planet”.

Besides, S’wheat also donates a percentage of its profits to help protect wildlife and sea life worldwide, and every sale also plants a tree.

From humble beginnings

S’wheat has recently begun offering co-branded bottles to both small and large companies, offering a high-quality etching of your organisation’s logo on their reusable plant-based bottles.

The company started from humble beginnings, launching via a crowdfunding campaign. “The response we had from this campaign was extremely positive, raising over 230% more than our goal.”

“Since then, we have been continuously increasing our environmental impact, planting trees, taking plastic out of the ocean, starting projects protecting wildlife, sea life, and so much more.”

“We are dedicated to making a real difference in the world, and with your support, together we can do a lot of good for the world.”

Jake added, “Sustainability is the core value of S’wheat, and it remains at the heart of everything we do.”

“We are constantly pushing ourselves to be the most sustainable brand out there. We are very grateful to have the support we’ve been given from our customers and corporate clients.”

“This is what makes it possible for us to make the world a cleaner place; together, we can do a lot of good for the world.”
