Suckler pairs reach €1,880 at Headford Mart

Some 500 cattle turned out for Headford Mart on Saturday (November 21st) according to a spokesperson.

  • Bullocks ranged from €1.39 to €2.74 per kg or €150 to €860 over the kg. Top price over the kg – a LMX – 700kg – €1560 – €2.23/kg. Top price per kg – CHX – 325kg – €890 – €2.74/kg;
  • Heifers clicked from €1.71 to €2.47 per kg or €195 to €720 over the kg. Top price over kg – a CHX – 610kg – €1330 – €2.18/kg;
  • Weanling heifers made from €1.74 to €3.42 per kg or €220 to €590 over the kg. Top price over the kg – CHX – 290kg – €880 – €3.03/kg. Top price per kg – LMX – 240kg – €820 – €3.42/kg;
  • Weanling bulls sold from €1.78 to €3.25 per kg or €270 to €620 over the kg. Top price over the kg – CHX- 340kg – €960 – €2.82/kg. Top price per kg – CHX – 255kg – €830 – €3.25/kg;
  • Cull cows went under the hammer from €400 to €1,310 for an 8-year-old CHX, 815kg;
  • Sucklers fetched from €960 up to €1,880 for a 4-year-old CHX with a September-born LMX bull calf.
  • Sheep: Lambs ranged from €96 to €127.50:
    • 53kg – €127.50 – €2.41/kg;
    • 36kg – €96 – €2.67/kg;
    • 43kg – €108 – €2.51/kg;
    • 43kg – €107 – €2.49/kg;
    • 47kg – €116 – €2.47/kg;
    • 45kg – €110 – €2.44/kg.
