200 heifers ‘to suit all price ranges’ for Jalex on-farm sale

200 lots are catalogued for the Jalex Select auction, which will take place on Saturday, April 24th, 2021.

James and Nelson Alexander will hold the sale at their farm in 88 Gloverstown Road, Randalstown. Richard Beattie will officiate as livestock auctioneer.

While the Jalex herd of commercial cattle is well-known for being the ideal venue for securing top-end heifers, it has earned its reputation as a consistent source for quality springers that blend into every farm enterprise.

Reinforcing this, James explained, “We have some very special heifers included in this sale, but we have something for absolutely everyone with heifers to suit all price ranges.”

“One thing that buyers can be guaranteed of is quality. These are all beef bred commercials, in-calf to handpicked easy calving bulls.”

Seasonally, this is a busy time of the year, with lambing, calving and fieldwork in full swing.

For all those who may be unable to view the heifers, the Alexander team have prepared a detailed catalogue of photos and videos for all lots.

Also noted in this are service sites, due dates and sex of calf if known.

Bidding and collection

As well as ringside bidding, you can purchase cattle using the MartEye sales platform. Pre-registration is essential if you are a new customer and this process will take approximately one minute.

Purchasers can collect stock the week following the sale. The Alexanders said they can arrange export and transport to a nominated point for purchase from Southern Ireland and the UK.

More information

The sale kicks off on Saturday, April 24th, 2021, at noon. With 200 lots to get through, the family is advising farmers to “come in good time with the intention to start sharp at noon”.

Furthermore, James is confident that there “will be something for everyone from a £1,500 budget upwards”.
