Save hours on calf registrations this year

Herdwatch’s popular webinar series, which provides “sound expert” advice to farmers, helps them simplify their farm paperwork and make better decisions on-farm, will return in 2022.

Its first live webinar of 2022 will take place next Tuesday, January 18th, at 7:30 pm, focusing on simplifying your calf registration.

It aims to show how farmers can save hours on calf registrations this year using the Herdwatch app.

According to Herdwatch, it has seen over 11,000 registrants sign up for their webinars.

The webinars – which began two years ago – are free to both Herdwatch members and non-members alike.

The webinars’ primary goal is:

  • To provide sound expert advice to farmers;
  • Help them simplify their farm paperwork;
  • Make better decisions on-farm.

Topics vary depending on the time of year and have included:

  • Cow performance;
  • Medicine compliance;
  • Breeding management;
  • Mapping your farm;
  • Preparing for farm audits.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Herdwatch said: “If you can’t watch the webinars live, you can still register.”

“Herdwatch will send you a link to watch the webinar after the live event, meaning you don’t have to miss out.”

The latest edition in the series will see Rory Best, former Irish & Lions Captain and Herdwatch user join the webinar.

Best retired from professional rugby in 2019 and returned to the family farm near Poyntzpass to help his father, John, and his brother, Simon, run the enterprise.

Rory, an “avid Herdwatch user & fan”, stated: “The Herdwatch app has been invaluable in the day to day running of the farm.”

Rory will be discussing his life in farming and taking any questions the viewers may have for him on the webinar.

Flockwatch

Last month, we reported that Herdwatch will release its all-new sheep management app, ‘Flockwatch’, in early 2022.

The news comes following the launch of the “market-leading” farm management software’s new farm mapping technology in August.

In a statement, CEO Fabien Peyaud said: “Flockwatch is going to be a big help to sheep farmers.”
