Cavan-based vet, Gerard McGovern, recently delivered a lamb which was “severely deformed”.
The popular vet explained that the lamb had a defect in his abdominal wall and protrusion of all of his viscera.
In a post on his Instagram page, which has in excess of 30,000 followers, he outlined that the lamb was delivered by caesarian section. “He was alive at birth but as his deformities were incompatible with life, he died within minutes. C’est la vie.”
