Jess Brooks pulled out all the stops when she surprised her other half, John Breare, with a leap year proposal in recent days, writes Catherina Cunnane.
The couple, who reside in Hardwick, Northamptonshire, crossed paths when working for the same agricultural contracting firm.
“I joked about being a leap year a few weeks ago. Last week, I then decided I would get him some sheep instead of a ring and just went for it.” Jess told That’s Farming.
“I asked the lady, who I bought them off, if she would do it for me. When we went to the farm to pick them up, I took him into the pen.”
“He said he wasn’t expecting the proposal, but he said ‘yes’ straight away,” Jess added.
The farming enthusiasts explained that they will possibly incorporate an agricultural theme into their wedding day.
