Clare Marts will begin holding online auctions today (Thursday, May 14th), due to Covid-19.
A sale of cull cows, heifers and aged bulls will take place at Ennis Mart at 12pm today – you can tune in here.
“It’s planned to go with bullocks on Friday (15th) and to do similar next week with calves on Monday with the sheep, and weanlings on the Tuesdays.” a spokesperson explained in a post on social media.
“Farmers will have to pre-enter all their stock and will be given a time to drop them off and will have to go home after this.”
The spokesperson pointed out that sellers will be able to view their stock being sold on-line by downloading the ‘Livestock-Live App’ on their phone, or by view proceedings on computer through Livestock-Live’s website.
“Buyers will be able to view stock prior to the auction process at designated times and then will have to leave the yard and bid remotely on their phones or laptop through the Livestock Live app or website.”
