Mart Report: Prices from €30 to €2,700 in Ennis

Ennis Mart – Cattle Prices – 04-04-2023

According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, just under 900 lots came under the hammer at its general cattle sale on Tuesday, April 4^th, 2023.

They reported that the sale attracted a “large” number of August-born weanlings, with “some very fancy” prices for both bulls and heifers.

A small entry of suckler stock came under the hammer, with prices to €2,700, but generally, pairs made nothing over €2000, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson continued: “Again, strong calves were a very good trade with Hereford-cross types made to €470, while lighter calves sold from €60 onwards.”

“Not many Friesian bulls were available, and these made from €30 to €225, again depending on strength. Quite a number of Aberdeen Angus-cross calves were available, and these made €80 to €325.”
