A three-year-old child has died after an incident involving a vehicle on a farm in West Wales.
Police were alerted to the scene of a private property in the Clynderwen area at approximately 7 pm yesterday (Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021).
Child dies
In a statement, a spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police, said:
“Dyfed-Powys Police was alerted to a collision involving a vehicle and a child at a private property in the Clynderwen area at approximately 7pm on Tuesday, August 3.”
“Sadly, a three-year-old boy died at the scene. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing. The family is being supported by specialist officers.”
“The Health and Safety Executive and HM Coroner have been informed. Nobody else was injured.”
Tractor and slurry tanker overturns
Earlier today, we reported that a tractor with a slurry tanker, transporting a load, overturned in the UK yesterday (August 3rd).
As a result of the incident, police closed the B3274 in Cornwall shortly after 5 pm.
Firefighters and police arrived at the scene to find a tractor and the slurry tankers lying on its side.
According to reports, the tractor driver walked away uninjured.
A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said:
“Crews from Padstow Community Fire Station are in attendance at a road traffic collision involving a tractor and slurry trailer on its side.”
“The crew worked with the farmer, Devon & Cornwall Police and Highways to resolve the incident.”
Man (70s) dies in Westmeath
Meanwhile, a tractor driver (70s) has died in a single-vehicle collision in Co Westmeath.
The fatal road traffic crash occurred on Monday, August 2nd, 2021.
Gardaí attended the scene of the single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a tractor on the R389, Mullingar Road, Kilbeggan.
