Prices from €115 to €2,390 in Ennis

Ennis Mart – Cattle Prices – 20-06-2023

According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, cattle numbers were “up a bit on last week” at its general weekly cattle sale on Tuesday, June 20^th, 2023, writes farming journalist, Catherina Cunnane.

They noted that the bull trade is “holding very” solid as shippers were again “very active”, and these made to €4.15/kg, while heifers maxed out at €3.78/kg.

A “very mixed run” of suckler stock topped out at €2,390, while a clearance sale of dairy stock – farmed as part of an OAD milking system – went under the hammer from €1,200 to €1,780.

Meanwhile, just under 60 calves came under the hammer, with highs of €130/head for Friesians.

Angus calves pushed from €180 to €335, while Hereford cross calves climbed to €365, and continentals topped at €415.
