‘Good’ trade for cattle at Ballinasloe

Bullocks sold from €2.18-€2.61/kg, while heifers made from €2.04-€3.25/kg and cull cows went under the hammer from €620-€1,290 at Ballinasloe Mart on Wednesday (June 24th).

Speaking following the sale, the spokesperson, said: “A good trade at our cattle sale.”

Bullocks – €790-€1,400/head:

  • 1 CH – 700kg – €1,400 – €2.00/kg;
  • 1 CH – 690kg – €1,400 – €2.03/kg;
  • 1 CH – 670kg – €1,390 – €2.07/kg;
  • 1 LM – 440kg – €1,150 – €2.61/kg;
  • 1 LM – 305kg – €790 – €2.59/kg;
  • 1 CH – 347kg – €840 – €2.42/kg.

Heifers – €550-€1,420/head:

  • 1 LM – 625kg – €1,420 – €2.27/kg;
  • 1 LM – 600kg – €1,300 – €2.17/kg;
  • 1 CH – 625kg – €1,300 – €2.08/kg;
  • 1 LM – 400kg – €1,300 – €3.25/kg;
  • 1 LM – 370kg – €970 – €2.62/kg;
  • 1 LM – 415kg – €1,050 – €2.53/kg.

Averages:

  • Bullocks – €1, 053 or €2.18/kg;
  • Heifers – €981 or €2.04/kg;
  • Dry cows – €985.
