Headford Mart – cattle prices – 10-07-2021

According to a spokesperson, there was a “large” turnout of cattle, comprising some 400 lots at Headford Mart on Saturday, July 10^th.

The spokesperson reported a 100% clearance for the suckler sale with an average of €2,075 and a top price of €2,340.

“An exceptional trade for cow and calf outfits with 30 lots sold. We were delighted to go above and beyond for this local customer who contacted Pat Burke, auctioneer, to hold such a sale at Headford Mart.”

“They were excellent quality cattle with 100% clearance. Also, he sold his pedigree Charolais stock bull for €2,400.”

Headford Mart 10-07-2021: 

• Bullocks climbed from €1.34 to €3.25 per kg or €100 to €1352 over the kg. Top price over the kg – a pair of LMX – 718kg – €2070 – €2.88/kg (lot 14E). Top price per kg – a LMX – 265kg – €860 – €3.25/kg (lot 14D).
• Heiferswent under the hammer from €1.91 to €3.10 per kg or €255 to €1130 over the kg. Top price over kg – a CHX – 660kg – €1790 – €2.71/kg (lot 28J). Top price per kg – LMX – 355kg – €1100 – €3.10/kg (lot 35).
• Weanling bulls made from €2.21 to €2.90 per kg or €410 to €575 over the kg. Top price over the kg – a LMX – 345kg – €920 €2.67/kg, (Lot 43). Top price per kg – a LMX – 290kg – €840 – €2.90/kg, (Lot 43E).
• Cull cows traded from €650 to €1830 for a 4-year-old CHX, 855kg (lot 200).

Cattle prices at Headford Mart 03-07-2021:

• Bullocks ranged from €1.72 to €2.77 per kg or €300 to €1275 over the kg;
• Heifers went under the hammer from €1.80 to €3.23 per kg or €240 to €1315 over the kg;
• Weanling bulls changed hands from €1.97 to €2.90 per kg or €345 to €715 over the kg;
• Cull cows sold from €730 to €2190;
• Cow and calf pairings peaked at €1780;
• Stock bulls realised €1700.

• Culls/breeders sold from €58 to €149.
• Lambs/hoggetschanged hands from €71 to €129 or €1.89 to €2.91 per kg
