Headford Mart report – cattle prices – 06-08-2021 and 07-08-2021 

Headford Mart’s weanling sales kicked off last Friday evening (August 6^th).

A spokesperson reported that the sale attracted “steady” numbers with some “exceptional” quality lots on offer.

• Weanling heifers sold from €2.19 to €2.99 per kg or €435 to €685 over the kg. Top price over the kg and per kg – a LMX – 345kg – €1030 – €2.99/kg, (Lot 5T) 1^st 2^nd prize was 415kg – CHX – €1080 – €2.60/kg (Lot 4A).
• Weanling bulls changed hands from €1.63 to €3.19 per kg or €255 to €735 over the kg. Top price over the kg – LMX – 445kg – €1180 – €2.65/kg, (Lot 13) 2^nd Top price per kg –  A CHX – 295kg – €940 – €3.19/kg – (Lot 15D).

Headford Mart 07-08-2021:

According to a spokesperson, “another large turnout of cattle met with a trade”, at Headford Mart on Saturday, August 7^th, 2021.

• Bullocksmade from €1.36 to €2.99 per kg or €105 to €1300 over the kg. Top price over the kg – a LMX – 820kg – €2120 – €2.59/kg (lot 17). Top price per kg – a LMX – 335kg – €1000 – €2.99/kg, (lot 4H).
• Heifers ranged from €1.49 to €2.90 per kg or €180 to €1065 over the kg. Top price over kg – a CHX – 675kg – €1740 – €2.58/kg (lot 42A). Top price per kg – a LMX – 345kg – €1000 – €2.90/kg (lot 41H).
• Cull cows pushed from €600 to €1890 for an 11-year-old CHX, 845kg (lot 226).
• Cow & calf pairings climbed to €1990 (lot 601);
• In-calf cows fetched up to €1,630.

According to a spokesperson, trade was “steady” at Headford Mart on Saturday, July 24th, 2021.

The spokesperson reported the sale saw “another large turnout of cattle” with “prices similar to the previous week”.

• Bullocks sold from €1.28 to €2.93 per kg or €335 to €1155 over the kg. Top price over the kg – a LMX – 745kg – €1900 – €2.55/kg (lot 6C). Top price per kg – a CHX – 365kg – €1070 – €2.93/kg, (lot 8E).
• Heifers pushed from €1.89 to €3.19 per kg or €273 to €1090 over the kg. Top price over kg – an AAX – 780kg – €1870 – €2.40/kg (lot 26E). Top price per kg – CH – 160kg – €510 – €3.19/kg (lot 33X).
• Weanling bullswent under the hammer from €2.04 to €2.57 per kg or €255 to €770 over the kg. Top price over the kg and per kg – a LMX – 490kg – €1260 – €2.57/kg, (Lot 42B).
• Cull cows made from €730 to €1900 for a 6-year-old SAX, 885kg (lot 206).
• Cow & calf pairings fetched from €1350 to €1640 (lot 601) for a 4-year old LMX cow with a July-born CHX bull calf at foot.

• Culls ranged from €80 to €169;
• Breeders fetched €184.
• Lambs ranged from €70 to €140 or €2.12 to €3.15 per kg
