Blessington Mart – sheep prices – 09-11-2021
According to a spokesperson, a “very lively” trade prevailed for heavy lambs at Blessington Mart on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021.
They reported that store lamb prices were “similar” to the previous week.
Blessington Mart 09-11-2021:
- Heavy lambs – €155-€163;
- Factory lambs – €138-€155 or €88-€102;
- Stores over 40kgs – €120-€135 or €80-€93;
- Store lambs over 35kgs – €96-€120 or €66-€82 over;
- Store lambs over 30kgs – €68-90 or €38-€60 over;
- Heavy ewes – €138-€176/head;
- Lighter ewes – €80-€132/head.
Weanling prices
The spokesperson reported that the mart’s weanling sale last Friday (November 5th), attracted a “big” entry. A “lively trade for all classes,” led to a full clearance.
- Continental bulls – €340-€690 over;
- HE/AA bulls – €260-€480 over;
- Continental heifers – €300-€620 over;
- HE/AA heifers – €240-€420 over.
Cattle prices last week
According to the spokesperson, there was a “very good” trade for “all” classes at the Wicklow mart’s general cattle sale on Thursday, November 4th, 2021.
They reported that there were “lots of customers looking for stock” at its sale.
- Continental store bullocks – €460-€810 over;
- HE/AA store bullocks – €310-€520 over;
- Friesian store bullocks – €240-€460 over;
- Continental store heifers – €420-€720 over;
- HE/AA store heifers – €280-€460 over.
Sheep prices: 02-11-2021
According to the spokesperson, fat lambs were up €6-€8/head at the mart on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021.
- They outlined that “all other types of sheep met a very lively trade”.
- Heavy lambs – €150-€156 or €98-€103 over;
- Factory lambs – €132-€150 or €81-€100 over;
- Store lambs over 40kgs – €120-€132 or €80-€88 over;
- Store lambs over 30kgs – €66-€99 or €36-€64 over;
- Fat ewes – €140-€182/head;
- Lighter ewes – €82-€132/head.
