Ballymote Mart – Cattle Sale – Thursday, February 18^th, 2021.

Ballymote Mart Report: There was a “super” yard of cattle on offer at Thursday’s special breeding and feeding heifer sale, with mainly continental types 450 kgs+ available.

“A number of new customers from the border counties along with northern customers and usual agents for midlands and western counties and local farmers all battling the quality on offer.”

Ballymote Mart cattle report: 

Bullocks made from €750 to €840 over:

• BAX – 580 KG – €1,420;
• LMX – 535 KG – €1,350;
• AAX – 515 KG – €1,270.

Sucklers went under the hammer from €1100 to €2120 per unit:

• April-2015-born LMX cow and June-2020-born LMX bull calf at foot – €2,120

Weanling bulls pushed from €400 to €600 over:

• CHX – 320 KG – €920;
• CHX – 275 KG – €840;
• CHX – 340 KG – €870.

Weanling heifers clicked from €325 to €600 over:

• LMX – KG – €890;
• BBX – 285 KG – €790;
• LMX – 235 KG – €660.

Store heifers under 400 kg pushed from €400 to €700 over:

• LMX – 380 KG – €1,080;
• LMX – 360 KG – €1,020;
• CHX – 390 KG – €990.

Lots 400 to 500 kg sold from €450 to €1,180 over:

• LMX – 400 KG – €1,580;
• BBX – 490 KG – €1,420;
• LMX – 480 KG – €1,450.

Lots 500 to 600 kg made from €550 to €2,610 over:

• LMX – 540 KG – €3,150 or €5.83/kg;
• LMX – 590 KG – €2,600 or €4.41/kg;
• BBX – 580 KG – €2,400 or €14/kg;
• CHX – 555 KG – €1,900 or €3.43/kg.

Heavier lots realised €1,220 over:

• LMX – 600 KG – €1,820;
• SAX – 690 KG – €1,700;
• LMX – 615 KG – €1,650.
