How much are cattle selling at marts during Covid-19 crisis?

There was an excellent selection of stock on offer at Newport Mart’s cattle tender on Wednesday (April 22nd), according to a mart spokesperson.

The spokesperson reported that there was a larger number of registered buyers tendering on the day.

Bullocks:

  • LM – 23 months – 600kg – €1230;
  • LM – 20 moths – 575kg – €180;
  • LM – 24 months – 505kg – €1100;
  • 4 AA – 24 months – 544kg – €980;
  • HE – 25 months – 530kg – €980;
  • 2 HE – 21 months – 525kg – €970;
  • AA – 20 months – 520kg – €962;
  • AA – 27 months – 520kg – €910;
  • 2 LM – 20 months – 448kg – €896;
  • 2 AU – 12 months – 410 kg – €876.

Heifers:

  • CH – 14 months – 495kg – €1089;
  • FR – 38 months – 660kg – €1070;
  • LM – 36 months – 520kg – €1000;
  • 2 HE – 25 months – 537kg – €993;
  • 2 HE – 22 months – 532kg – €984;
  • 3 CH – 15 months – 438kg – €965;
  • 3 LM – 11 months – 432kg – €950;
  • CH – 13 months – 350kg – €800;
