A man has died following a fatal workplace incident on a farm in Bunclody, Co Wexford.
The incident occurred shortly before 9 am yesterday morning (Wednesday).
Gardaí have launched an investigation, and the HSA has been notified.
Wexford farm accident
Confirming the news to That’s Farming, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said:
“Gardaí are investigating a fatal workplace incident that occurred on a farm in Bunclody, Co. Wexford, at approximately 9 am this morning, Wednesday, August 31st, 2022.”
“A man, aged in his 60s, has been pronounced dead. The Health Safety Authority have been notified. Investigations are ongoing.”
According to reports, the male was working on his own land with a tractor and harrow when the incident occurred.
It has been reported that his brother was working in the same field at the time of the incident.
Offaly
Meanwhile, last week, we reported that a male, aged in his 70s, died after a tractor overturned on private farmland in the Tinamuck area of Clara, Co. Offaly.
Gardaí are investigating a fatal workplace accident that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (August 24th, 2022) morning.
He was discovered deceased shortly before 5 am on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022.
Galway
Last month, we reported that Gardaí launched an investigation following a fatal workplace accident on a farm in Co Galway.
The accident, involving a male (60s), occurred on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022.
Confirming the news to That’s Farming, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, said:
“Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal workplace accident that occurred on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, in the Derreen area of Gort, Co Galway.”
“At approximately 7:10 pm, the body of a man aged in his sixties was located on a farm in the area.”
“The body of the man was removed from the scene to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.”
“The Health & Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and will conduct an investigation of their own,” the spokesperson concluded.
