JCB hit a major milestone earlier this month after its 750,000th award-winning engine rolled off the production line.
According to the company, production first began at JCB Power in 2004.
Furthermore, extending production to India seven years later helped the company “power” to the “landmark” figure.

In a statement, Lord Bamford, JCB chairman, said:
“750,000 engines is quite some milestone when you consider that we only started manufacturing 17 years ago.”
“So much has been achieved over that time with our engines, including two world land speed records.”
“With the development of our new hydrogen motor, there is so much more to come. The future for our engine business looks very bright.”
According to the company, it has made more than half of the 750,000 engines at JCB Power Systems, which produces a range from 55-212kW.
The engines are used to power JCB’s products and those of customers producing equipment such as road sweepers, screeners, crushers, and barges.
JCB India’s Delhi plant currently manufactures around 48 engine variants for the Indian market and export.
Among the highlights of the past 17 years of engine production was a Queen’s Award for International Trade for JCB Power Systems in 2016, honouring a 325% growth in third party sales.
Auction report: ‘Strong’ demand leads to 88% clearance
In other machinery-related news, Hennessy Auctioneers recorded an 88% clearance at its latest online machinery auction on Saturday, December 18th, 2021.
It held the fully online auction, in conjunction with LSL Auctions, at the old mart in Portlaoise (Eircode R32 WT10), Co Laois.
Speaking following the auction, a spokesperson told That’s Farming:
“The auction attracted the largest registration ever of online bidders with 773 registered bidders. There was a 88% clearance of 462 lots.”
“The demand was very strong for all types of equipment. However, the well-minded gear is attracting a lot of interest, including UK interest.”
