Weather: Low of -4 degrees tonight

Frost and ice will clear this morning, giving rise to sunshine for a period, according to Met Éireann.

Showers are expected with a risk of hail and isolated thunder. The national forecaster also warned that there will be sleet or snow in parts of Ulster, although accumulations will be mostly over hills and mountains.

Temperatures will reach 4 to 7 degrees today, before dropping between -3 to -4 tonight.

It will be cold and clear tonight with a “widespread sharp to severe” frost and icy stretches with fog expected to form.

Saturday – Met Éireann said that frost and fog will clear, with a dry, calm and mostly sunny day in store.

It warned that it will be cold throughout the afternoon with lows of 3 to 7 degrees.

Once again, it will be very cold and frosty tomorrow night with temperatures “widely falling” back to -3 to -4 degrees.

Sunday – The national forecaster is predicting a sharp to severe frosty start to the day, but that overall, it will be dry and sunny with highs of 4 to 9 degrees.
