Proceeds from the sale of bull, which sold for €5,700 at Carnaross Mart earlier today (Monday, December 21st), will be donated to a worthy cause.
Carnaross Mart auctioned off a 545kg Belgian-Blue-cross bull in aid of St. John’s Ward in Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
The bull, which was born in December-2019, was snapped up for the four-figure sum following a hive of activity from an opening bid of €2,000.
The successful bidder is to receive a €100 lucks’ penny.

Ahead of the sale of lot 5,000, a mart spokesperson said:
“As we approach our final sale this Monday, December 21st, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support this year, especially under the current circumstances we are enduring.”
“As part of a big thank you to all frontline workers, we at Carnaross Mart, would like to give something back to show our appreciation for everyone’s hard work.”
“In doing so, at 2 pm during Monday’s sale, we are going to auction a U-grade Belgian Blue bull, with all proceeds going to St. John’s Ward in Crumlin Children’s Hospital.”
