Victoria Farms, Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, welcomed the public through its gates yesterday for its open day, to coincide with its timed virtual auction in conjunction with Mart Eye and Mid-Tipp (Thurles) Mart.
Catherina Cunnane of That’s Farming was among present at the well-attended open day, which ran from 12 noon until late yesterday evening (Saturday, August 26th, 2023).
37 hand-picked show quality females – both maiden and in-calf – are catalogued for the sale, which opened at 1 pm on Friday, August 25th, 2023, and will close with lot 1 at 7 pm tomorrow, Monday, August 28th, 2023.
The sale features four in-calf heifers a second-calving cow, and 32 maiden heifers of varying ages.
According to the Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo farmer, all “maiden heifers have been scanned correct and right for breeding and are certified to that effect”.
The catalogue includes females with Belgian Blue, Charolais, Limousin, Salers, Simmental, and Hereford influence.
The sale includes daughters of a number of stockbulls and renowned AI sires, including:

At the open day, attendees could view each of the lots and were supplied with a catalogue, “given as a guide to the breeding and evaluations of the animals”.
