Met Éireann has issued a status of weather warnings ahead of the arrival of Storm Aiden.
Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, and Waterford are being placed under a status orange wind warning.
The alert is effective from 5am tomorrow (Saturday) until 10am.
“On Saturday morning, strong southerly winds, veering south-westerly associated with Storm Aiden, will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h, with severe and damaging gusts of 100 to 130km/h.”
Other counties
Meanwhile, a status orange wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Sligo, and Clare.
The warning is valid from 8am tomorrow until 4pm.
“On Saturday morning and afternoon, strong southwest to west winds associated with Storm Aiden will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h, with severe and damaging gusts of 100 to 130km/h.”

Meanwhile, the national forecaster has issued a status yellow wind warning for the entire country,
It warned that strong to gale force southerly winds will veer westerly. Some severe gusts are possible.
