Dry cows to €2,180 & bullocks to €1,780 in Tuam – Devane

Farming News/Mart Reports – Tuam Mart – Cattle Prices – 24-07-2023

According to Marion Devane, dry cows pushed to €2,180, while heifers topped at €1,790 and bullocks hit €1,780 at Tuam Mart on Monday, July 24th, 2023.

Cull cow prices:

  • 700 kg LMX by a Carnane farmer made €1800 (€2.57/kg);
  • 830 kg CHX by a Moyne farmer made €2180 (€2.63/kg);
  • 690 kg LM by a Dunmore farmer made €1830 (€2.65/kg);
  • 710 kg LMX by a Claregalway farmer made €2020 (€2.62/kg);
  • 675 kg LMX by a Bushypark farmer made €1710 (€2.53/kg);
  • 720 kg LMX by a Milltown farmer made €1870 (€2.60/kg);
  • 605 kg CHX by a Dunmore farmer made €1450 (€2.40/kg).

Bullock prices:

  • 375 kg CHX by a Beaugh farmer made €1270 (€3.39/kg);
  • 420 kg SIX by a Knocknagur farmer made €1270 (€3.02/kg);
  • 455 kg CHX by a Milltown farmer made €1370 (€3.01/kg);
  • 530 kg LMX by a Caltra farmer made €1480 (€2.79/kg);
  • 620 kg LMX by a Lenamore farmer made €1780 (€2.87/kg).

Heifer prices:

  • 355 kg CHX by a Kilconly farmer made €1070 (€3.01/kg);
  • 395 kg CHX by a Kilconly farmer made €1190 (€3.01/kg);
  • A pair 477 kg CHX by a Belclare farmer made €1300 (€2.73/kg);
  • 515 kg LMX by a Kilkerrin farmer made €1490 (€2.89/kg);
  • 595 kg LMX by a Lavally farmer made €1620 (€2.72/kg);
  • 610 kg CHX  by a Shrule farmer made €1700 (€2.79/kg);
  • 625 kg LMX by a Lavally farmer made €1790 (€2.86/kg).

Last week’s cattle prices

According to Marion Devane, an “upward” trade prevailed at Tuam Mart, Co Galway on Monday, July 17th, 2023.

The mart manager reported that cull cows topped at €2,580, while heifers soared to €1,710 and bullocks fetched up to €1730.

Bullock prices:

  • 3 CHX 413 kg by a Garrafrauns farmer made €1160 (€2.81/kg);
  • 435 kg LMX by a Lavally farmer made €1190 (€2.74/kg);
  • 445 kg LMX by a Sylane farmer made €1300 (€2.92/kg);
  • 450 kg CHX by a Sylane farmer made €1430 (€3.18/kg);
  • 520 kg AAX by a Milltown farmer made €1380 (€2.65/kg);
  • 4 HEX 637 kg by a Ballyglunin farmer made €1540 (€2.42/kg);
  • 680 kg SIX by a Cloonkeen farmer made €1730 (€2.54/kg).
