A G BER-rated detached cottage on a 9-acre plot of land has just hit the market in Co Leitrim.

€79,000 for 2-bed cottage ‘in need of renovation’

Meanwhile, Sherry Fitzgerald Hanley has introduced to the market a two-bed detached bungalow in Co Mayo with a €79,000 guide price.

The property firm says that the cottage, which sits on a 1.77-acre site in Cloontubrid, Swinford, is “in need” of renovation.

Constructed of mass concrete with a pitched, slate roof, this house was built in the 1950s, with an extension added to the rear in later years.

The house is traditional in its layout, with a front porch leading directly into a living room with two bedrooms on either side and a kitchen, bathroom and porch to the rear.

The selling agent says it is in need of significant renovation throughout.

However, it offers the prospective purchaser a great opportunity to have a detached home on a large site.

“The house is in a peaceful setting and is well set back from the road.”

“The site offers ample room for off-street parking. There is a large lawn to the front with a selection of old outbuildings to the sides and rear,” the spokesperson added.

The property is 6km from Swinford town and is 9km from the N17, and 8km from the N5.

The selling agent added that Ireland West Airport Knock is just 13km from the cottage.
