Kilkenny: ‘Plainer types are selling well but plainer types have reduced in price’ – Candler

According to George Candler, some 800 lots crossed the scales at Kilkenny Mart’s most recent cattle sale on Thursday, September 21^st, 2023.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that “quality lots are still selling well but plainer types have reduced in price”.

“More cattle are visually not looking as well as a few weeks ago due to the recent spell of weather,” he added.

Bullocks topped at €2,130, while heifers sold to €1,850 at Thursday’s sale.
