Bullocks to €2,300 & cull cows to €2,080 in Headford

According to a spokesperson for Headford Mart, bullocks reached €2,300, while heifers soared to €1,500, and cows climbed to €2,080 at Headford Co-operative Livestock Mart on Saturday, July 8^th, 2023.

Bullock prices:

• CHX – 800 kg – €2300 or €2.88/kg;
• CHX – 745 kg – €2150 or €2.89/kg;
• AAX – 725 kg – €2080 or €2.87/kg;
• AAX – 560 kg – €1570 or €2.80/kg;
• LMX – 540 kg – €1450 or €2.69/kg;
• CHX – 390 kg – €1230 or €3.15/kg;
• SIX – 425 kg – €1240 or €2.92/kg;
• CHX – 400 kg – €1310 or €3.28/kg.

Weanling bull prices:

• BBX – 495 kg – €1700 or €3.43/kg;
• BBX – 470 kg – €1600 or €3.40/kg;
• CHX – 290 kg – €980 or €3.38/kg;
• AAX – 530 kg – €1350 or €2.55/kg.

Heifer prices:

• CHX – 595kg – €1500 or €2.52/kg;
• LMX – 425kg – €1250 or €2.94/kg;
• CHX – 495kg – €1400 or €2.83/kg;
• AAX – 398kg – €1120 or €2.81/kg;
• CHX – 400kg – €1080 or €2.70/kg.

Cull cows:

Previous week’s cattle prices

Younger cattle and forward stores “held their own” at Headford Mart’s most recent cattle sale on Saturday, July 1^st, 2023, according to a spokesperson.

Its weekly general cattle sale saw a “level pegging trade for heavy cattle against the factory quoted prices”.

At Saturday’s sale, bullocks soared to €1,800, while heifers pushed to €1,400, weanling bulls hit €1,660 and cull cows fetched up to €2,140.

Heifer prices:

• LMX – 555kg – €1400 or €2.52/kg;
• LMX – 525kg – €1400 or €2.67/kg;
• CHX – 500kg – €1250 or €2.50/kg;
• HEX – 313kg – €780 or €2.49/kg;

Weanling bull prices:

• CH – 520 kg – €1660 or €3.19/kg;
• LMX – 355 kg – €1010 or €2.85/kg;
