Report: Weanling exporters ‘not quite as active’ as previous weeks in Ennis

According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, just over 950 lots crossed the scales at its most recent cattle sale on Tuesday, October 3^rd, 2023.

The spokesperson described trade as “excellent” in the bull ring but noted that “shipppers were not quite as active but farmers and bull beef purchasers stepped up to fill the void and ensured a very strong trade yet again”.

“A great trade for the good heifers, but the lighter plainer lots were a little harder sold. A small entry of suckler stock met a fine trade with nice pairs making €2,000 to €2,080.”

“There were 15 calves available and these made to €470 for a month-old LIM bull. AAX calves ranged from €70 to €370,” the spokesperson added.
