Blessington Mart – sheep prices – 21-12-2021
According to a spokesperson, a small entry went under the hammer at Blessington Mart’s final sheep sale of 2021 on Tuesday (21-12-2021).
They reported that trade was “a little bit easier” on previous weeks.
Blessington Mart 21-12-2021:
- Heavy lambs – €160-€166 or €103-108 over;
- Factory lambs – €140-€160 or €95-€104 over;
- Store lambs over 40kgs – €118-€138 or €84 or €96 over;
- Also, store lambs over 35kgs – €105-€118 or €70-€88 over;
- Store lambs over 30kgs – €77-€103 or €47-€64 over;
- Heavy ewes – €130-€162/head;
- Lighter ewes – €86-€136/head.
Last week’s sheep prices
According to a spokesperson, Storm Barra resulted in a small entry of sheep at Blessington Mart on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021.
They reported that a “good selling trade” prevailed for all types at its general weekly sale.
Sheep prices: Blessington Mart 07-12-2021:
- Heavy lambs – €160-€165/head or €103-€112 over;
- Factory lambs – €140-€160/head or €96-€109 over;
- Store lambs over 40kgs – €120-€140/head or €80-€98 over;
- Also, store lambs over 30kgs – €70-€96/head or €40-€69 over;
- Heavy ewes – €142-€164/head:
- Lighter ewes – €88-€134.
Cattle prices
According to a spokesperson, there was a “very good” trade for all cattle at Thursday’s sale (December 9th, 2021).
They outlined that “lots of customers” made their presence felt, resulting in a complete stock clearance.
- Continental store bullocks – €420-€740 over;
- HE/AA store bullocks – €310-€570 over;
- Friesian store bullocks – €190-€410 over;
- Continental store heifers – €410-€660 over;
- HE/AA store heifers – €320+ over the kg;
- Beef cows – €360-€700 over;
- Feeding cows – €100-€300 over.
Ennis Mart:
In other news, according to a spokesperson, under 400 sheep were on offer at Ennis Mart on Monday, December 20th, 2021.
They said that trade was “back” on the previous week with prices to €173 for a pen of 21 at 53.5kg. Furthermore, cull ewes were also an easier trade with tops of €149.
Lamb prices:
- 21 @ 53.5kg at €173 – €3.23/kg;
- 9 @ 51kg at €170 – €3.33/kg;
- 8 @ 57.5kg at €170 – €2.95/kg;
- 12 @ 51kg at €164 – €3.21/kg;
- 10 @ 49kg at €159 – €3.24/kg;
- 11 @ 50kg at €161 – €3.22/kg.
