Ag contractor seeking staff members posts humorous ad

An advert, placed on Donedeal.ie, by an agricultural contractor, who wishes to expand his team, has amassed close to 10,000 views.

The advertisement was posted by Marshall Custom Cutting in Co. Cork, three days ago in search of harvest crew members.

The ad reads as follows: “Join our expanding team today. Combine and truck drivers wanted for the Irish grain harvest.”

“Each employee is part of the family here at Marshall Custom Cutting. Brendan, Mikey and Denny are looking for you.”

“Our fleet of New Holland 1530 combines start off in mid-July at the southern region of the forest road and work our way through the summer months till we hit the northern border, the Cork Kinsale Road.”

“You’re guaranteed to be in a different state every few days, a drunken state, a happy state etc, we do most of the states.”

“All the combines have cabs and we are fitting a hyd auger to another one at the moment so, apply now, and you could be the lucky one.”

“You can’t beat the oul hydraulic auger when the KP is coming at ya, instead of yanking the auger open with a piece of baling twine.”

“We are also looking for a driver to operate our KP chaser bin. No experience necessary as Brenden has trained many a good pilot. If your sister or mother is good looking, bring her along as well.”

‘Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’

“Don’t delay, call today, for the experience of a lifetime. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the sprawling city of Carrigaline, the flatlands and forest of the lower forest road and by mid-august, we’ll be well into the barley region with ‘the mountain’ visible in the distance.”

“If we get some wet time, we’ll travel the famous ‘mountain road’ where New Holland and John Deere secretly test their equipment in the middle of the night.”

“As we approach the northern border, we have choices to either visit Kinsale or up to the sprawling city of Cork, to experience the many fun places the city has to offer.” the ad concludes.
