Castlerea Mart – cattle prices – 10-02-2022

According to Brendan Egan, a large entry of stock went under the hammer at Castlerea Mart on Thursday, February 10^th, 2022.

The mart manager reported that trade “held” for all categories of stock.

He added that the bullock and heifer rings witnessed “good” clearances with demand for quality stores “clearly evident” in both rings.

“The weanling rings, with bigger numbers on offer this week, saw bulls peak at €3.24/kg. Heifer weanlings topped out at €3.56/kg.”

“Dry cows made up to €2200 with demand on par with last week, while the breeding stock recorded good clearances also,” Egan added.
