‘Big show tractor’ raising funds for charities

RJ & KD Mclean LTD, a family-run business, has launched a fundraising campaign with a difference in aid of four charities.

“We have built up a successful tractor and plant business over the last 35 year in Shaftesbury Dorset,” they explained on their Virgin Money Giving page.

“We would like to give something back to charity. We are very much family-orientated and love to help people, so an opportunity came up a few weeks ago when Covid-19 started and all agricultural shows were cancelled.”

“One of our local dealerships offered us a one-off show tractor and we managed to buy it.”

They have set up a Facebook and a Virgin Money Giving page. “We are going to take our big shiny tractor to show poorly children and their families at the respite hospices and many other events.”

“They will be able to sit in it and play with the switches, etc and have photos taken and make happy memories.”

“In the background, we will be promoting what we are doing and raising some money. We are setting the target to £100,000 and this will be split between our four chosen charities; Children’s Hospice Southwest, Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal, Julia’s House and Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.”
