A well-known matchmaker and dairy farmer has fought Covid-19 after spending five weeks in hospital.

Tom Feeney, Dunderry Fair’s long serving matchmaker, was released from Navan Hospital on Wednesday (April 22nd).

The hospital’s frontline staff applauded the 86-year-old Dunderry, Co. Meath native as he left the hospital.

Raising funds

Dunderry Fair has created a GoFundMe page with a goal to raise €5,000 to help and support charities and communities through the Covid 19 crisis.

The fund will run until 6pm on what would have been its fair day (Sunday, May 10th).

In a post on social media, a spokesperson for the fair said: “This is the reason we are trying to raise money, to help these frontline staff.”

“So if you can spare a few bob at all, it will be greatly appreciated.” the social media post added.
